Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Ata, a browser extension that transcribes meetings on Google Meet, Zoom (web version) and Microsoft Teams (web version) and uses artificial intelligence to generate minutes, summaries and tasks. By installing or using Ata, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of these terms
Ata is a service offered from Brazil at ataai.app. To reach the people responsible for the service, write to [email protected]. If you use Ata on behalf of a company or a team, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use Ata.
2. The service
Ata reads the caption text that the meeting platform itself already displays on screen, together with the name of who spoke and the time of each line. No bot joins the call, and Ata does not record or capture audio or video. From the transcript, Ata generates minutes, summaries, tasks and other answers using artificial intelligence.
3. Account and eligibility
To use Ata you need to create an account, with email and password, with Google, or with Microsoft. Ata is not intended for anyone under 18, and should not be used by anyone under that age. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account.
4. Plans and billing
Ata offers a Free plan, with unlimited transcription and a limited monthly amount of AI use, and a Pro plan, with unlimited AI and additional features. The Pro plan costs R$ 9.90 per month in Brazil, US$ 1.99 per month in the United States and the rest of the world, and € 1.99 per month in Europe. You are billed in the currency of the region where you subscribe.
There is also a Team plan, billed per seat. Payment for all paid plans is processed by Stripe. Ata does not receive or store your card details.
5. Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically every month, on the same payment method, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, in the Subscription tab of Ata, under Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, with no fee, and you keep access to the paid plan until that date.
6. Refunds
If you are a consumer in Brazil and purchased online, Brazilian consumer law (the Código de Defesa do Consumidor, Law 8,078/1990) grants you the right to withdraw from the purchase within 7 calendar days, with a full refund of the amount paid. To exercise this right, write to [email protected].
If you are in the European Union, consumer protection law grants you a 14-day right of withdrawal after subscribing, subject to the exceptions the law provides for digital content already supplied with your express consent and acknowledgment that this ends your right of withdrawal.
Outside of these cases, amounts already paid are not refunded, but you keep access to the paid plan until the end of the period already paid for.
7. Team plans
Under the Team plan, the person who creates the team is responsible for billing on all seats. Each person invited to the team occupies a seat, even while the invitation is still pending and has not been accepted. Removing a person from the team or canceling a pending invitation frees up that seat. If you created a team with other people, transfer ownership of the team to someone else before deleting your account.
8. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for informing the other people in a meeting that it is being transcribed, before or at the start of the conversation, and for obtaining any authorization required by the law of your country or state. Many places require this notice, and some require the consent of all participants to record or transcribe a conversation. The extension has a recording reminder you can turn on in Settings, but turning it on does not replace your duty to inform participants or to comply with the law that applies to your meeting.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Ata to: transcribe meetings without the authorization required by law; violate laws or the rights of others; attempt to access other people's accounts, other teams' data or parts of the system without permission; attempt to break, overload or bypass Ata's security; copy, resell or commercially exploit Ata without our written authorization; or submit content that is illegal, infringes copyright, or is used to deceive or harass other people.
10. Your content
The content of your meetings, transcripts, minutes, summaries, notes and tasks remains yours. By using Ata, you grant us a limited license to process that content, to generate the minutes and summaries you request, to sync it across your devices, and to deliver the features you use. We do not use the content of your meetings to train AI models or for any purpose beyond delivering the service to you.
11. AI-generated output
Minutes, summaries, tasks and chat answers are generated by artificial intelligence models and may contain errors, omissions or incorrect interpretations of the conversation. Always review AI-generated content before relying on it for important decisions.
12. Third-party platforms and trademarks
Ata works with Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, reading the captions those platforms display, and uses Stripe for payments and AI model providers to generate minutes and answers. Ata is not affiliated with Google, Zoom, Microsoft, Stripe, or the AI providers, and the trademarks of those companies belong to their respective owners.
13. Availability and changes to the service
We may change, improve or discontinue features of Ata at any time, including for maintenance or because of changes to the meeting platforms or the AI providers we use. We do our best to keep Ata available, but we do not guarantee that the service will be free of interruptions or errors.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ata is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including decisions made based on AI-generated minutes, summaries or tasks. This limitation does not remove any rights guaranteed by Brazilian consumer law or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Termination and account deletion
You can delete your account at any time, in Settings, Account, in the extension, or at ataai.app/app. Deletion erases your meetings, minutes, templates and any teams created only by you, ends your login, and cancels your subscription immediately. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, giving notice when possible.
16. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is described in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
17. Changes to these terms
If we make an important change to these terms, we will notify you inside the extension or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
18. Governing law and forum
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Disputes will be resolved before the courts of the consumer's domicile, as provided by Brazilian consumer law, without prejudice to any rights that the law of the country where you live grants you as a consumer.
